Two things worth settling before engineering rather than after, because both are far cheaper to change on paper:
- Door width for two vehicles side by side. A 30-foot wall can take two single doors or one wide one, and they are not the same cost or the same structure. Decide before engineering.
- Corner clearance. Square buildings tempt you to fill the corners. Leave one clear for a workbench or the building loses the advantage that made it square.
What a 30x30 Costs Beyond the Building
$14,300 covers stamped engineering drawings, the building components and freight. Concrete is separate. A 900 square foot square slab is about the simplest shape there is to pour - joints lay out on an even grid and there are no awkward corners to finish.
