Concrete Foundation
Foundation and erection services are available in general: Northcraft can arrange them through contractors it works with, as work separate from and priced apart from the steel building Northcraft supplies. The foundation must be complete and cured for about 30 days before the building is erected. The delivery date is not tied to the foundation: a building can arrive before the foundation is poured.

Do I have to use Northcraft for the foundation and erection, or just the building?
You can buy the steel building on its own. Foundation and erection services are available in general: Northcraft can arrange them through contractors it works with, as work separate from and priced apart from the steel building Northcraft supplies. Tell your estimator what you need.
Does Northcraft handle permits?
We provide the stamped engineering drawings your local building department will ask for. Most jurisdictions require a permit; pulling and managing that permit is typically the customer's or their contractor's responsibility.
What does the concrete foundation service actually include?
Northcraft's engineer-stamped building drawings come standard with every building and include anchor bolt plans. Engineer-stamped foundation plans are separate: they usually come from the contractor laying the slab, and Northcraft can provide them too. Where the site needs a foundation permit, the permitting department almost always wants engineer-stamped foundation plans before issuing it. The best course for a buyer is to ask their Northcraft estimator to provide stamped foundation plans with the building drawings.
Do I need a crane for erection?
It depends on building size. Smaller buildings can often be self-erected or handled by a small local crew with pre-cut, pre-drilled components that bolt together without field welding. Larger buildings, especially I-beam construction, typically need professional crane-assisted erection — ask your estimator what your project needs.
