Two things worth settling before engineering rather than after, because both are far cheaper to change on paper:
- Door height, measured against the actual vehicle. A door sized for a car will not clear a truck with a roof rack or a lift kit. Measure the tallest thing that has to get through and give your estimator that number.
- Whether you will ever finish the inside. At 20 feet wide, insulation and interior wall finish take a noticeable bite out of usable width. Sizing for it now costs less than losing the space later.
